While it’s hard to believe that the movie came out almost 20 years ago, it’s been long since the Average Joe crew first hit the big screen in 2004. As we ponder how exactly we got so old, let’s look at what the movie’s main actors look like these days.
Vince Vaughn – Peter
In addition to his many roles, he also reunited with his “DodgeBall” colleague Ben Stiller in “The Hours” and starred in “The Dilemma” and “The Delivery Man.”
Ben Stiller – White
Ben Stiller’s career as an actor, writer, and director is very diverse, and it seems to have started in 2004 when the movie “Dodgeball” was released.
More recently, he’s been getting behind the camera and working in a more dramatic genre, producing and directing the true story-based miniseries about a prison break, “Escape from Dannemora,” which received 12 nominations for the 2019 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Limited Series.
Stiller hasn’t forgotten his “DodgeBall” days, though: in 2017, he organized a charity contest for his Ben Stiller Foundation dedicated to the film. To shoot the video, Stiller reunited some of his colleagues from the movie, allowing fans to play dodgeball with him and some of his famous friends.
Christine Taylor – Kate
Taylor has starred with Stiller in many projects, including Zoolander, Tropic Thunder, and Outlander, and for good reason. The couple married in 2000 after meeting in the pilot episode of “Heather and Jack,” they had one of the most stable relationships in Hollywood for some time.
The couple announced their breakup in May 2017. Sources close to the couple said Stiller spent much time on his career, and Taylor focused on motherhood over their two children. As luck would have it, they found their way to each other during the pandemic and have remained together ever since.
Jason Bateman – Pepper
The actor has a long screen career, having appeared in films such as Juno, Hancock, Up in the Air, Couples Retreat, The Switch, Horrible Bosses, Treason, Identity Thief, This Is Where I Leave You, Beastopolis, Office Christmas Party, and Game Night.
He earned two Emmy nominations and won a Golden Globe for “Overdevelopment.” In 2019, the TV wrestler finally got his Emmy for Netflix’s extremely gritty crime drama Ozark. Though Bateman played the lead role in the series, he won his Emmy for directing one of the episodes.
Julie Gonzalo – Amber
Around the time of the movie’s release in 2004, Gonzalo played many teenagers, such as in Freaky Friday and Cinderella Story. However, in 2006, Gonzalo landed her biggest role early in her career as Hearst College student Parker Lee in the third and final season of the cult classic series Veronica Mars. In 2019, Gonzalo reprised that role in an episode of the “Veronica Mars” revival.
Regarding reboots, Gonzalo is also known for her role as Pamela Rebecca Barnes in the sequel to TNT Channel’s 2012-2014 series “Dallas.” In addition to guest-starring in series ranging from “Castle” to “CSI: Miami” to “Grey’s Anatomy,” Gonzalo landed another starring role on a short-lived show, playing attorney Maggie Decker in the sci-fi legal drama “Eli Stone.” She joined the cast of “Supergirl” in 2019, playing Andrea Rojas.
Missi Pyle – Fran
In addition to dominating the big screen, Pyle has appeared on the small screen as well, amassing dozens of guest stars, including appearances on Inside Amy Schumer, Lady Dynamite, One Mississippi, Major Crimes, The Catch, Two and a Half Men, Mom, Another Period, and Bob Hurts Abishola.
